A neuropsychologist and doctoral researcher, she is interested in social cognition and socio-emotional competencies, with a particular focus on autism. Her work explores how individuals perceive and represent their own mental and emotional states, as well as those of others.
As part of her doctoral research, she is involved in the development and validation of assessment tools, including questionnaires and behavioural tasks, designed to better capture these complex processes. Her approach draws on experimental psychology and cognitive neuroscience, combining methodological rigour with a keen interest in real-world applications.

Laura Gettemans, PhD student

Researcher in social cognition, focusing on advanced social-cognitive processes in autistic adults without intellectual disability. Her work examines how individuals understand, interpret, and navigate complex social situations, with particular attention to the heterogeneity of profiles, including gender-related differences. Her research combines experimental psychology and psychometrics to improve the assessment of social cognition using ecologically valid and sensitive tools. She is especially interested in camouflaging strategies and how they shape both measurement and lived social experiences in autism. Her work aims to contribute to more precise, inclusive, and clinically relevant approaches to the evaluation of social cognition.

Celine De Meulemeester, Postdoc

Clinical psychologist and postdoctoral researcher focused on difficulties in mentalizing and self–other distinction, that is, the ability to differentiate one’s own and others’ mental, emotional, and embodied states, as core processes in borderline personality disorder. Her work combines innovative self-report tools, ecological momentary assessment, behavioral paradigms and neuroimaging. She aims to bridge fundamental research with clinical theory to improve the conceptualization, assessment, and treatment of personality disorders. Her applied research is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, specifically mentalization-based theory and treatment (MBT). She values interdisciplinary collaboration, theoretical integration and translational impact.
